Escape the HEAT!

30 degrees + Celsius is just too HOT for me and my guys. So, we jumped into the car and sped off to Hall's Harbour on the Bay of Funday. The highest tides in the world are said to exist here.  As we arrived, the tide was coming in and ...yep...the tides were coming in quickly and with that speed you have to be careful with how far you walk or you could be swimming back to the parking lot.

Coming down the hill into the small village this is what you see....

It's always refreshing to get to this point in the sojourn because the temperature drops almost 10 degrees C. The relief is immediate!

The small fishing harbour has many boats and a few small quaint restaurants. Lobster is a specialty of course, mmm.

From this view you can see the far cliffs stretching along the coastline. This is where true relief exists. The walk can be long or short depending on Mother Nature. She, at a whim can decide the length of your stay. Today we knew the walk would be short. No matter, the cool fresh air was all we wanted.

Sophie and Jim are eyeing  the water. This place has to be christened and once my ball is thrown I will happy.

So we walked and I swam.

I can honestly say that this place is a 'COOL' place...literally!

As I predicted Mother Nature crept in quickly with the waters sneaking up along the shore. So peaceful and calm today. I just wonder what the place in going to look like on the weekend with Hurricane Earl supposedly venturing into our waters? Time will tell!

Blackberries!

My daddy goes bonkers over blackberries. Every time the season approaches he becomes more alert to the ever ripening of the little berries. When we lived on the west coast we discovered that blackberries were like giants compared to their east coast cousins. This proved to be the best part of living there. Anytime, one could find blackberries growing in every crack or crevice. So, the other day in the park Jim found some bushes on the path up the hill from the parking lot and inside the park a bit further along. 'Look Ron blackberries' I heard as he dove into the thickets.

This goes out to ALL you blackberry lovers and I hope it finds you with blackberry juice all over your fingers....do enjoy!

I have my own card!

Gees, Ron  will do anything for me. I told him I thought I should have a card to hand out to all my new friends I'm meeting. So, since he used to manage an art and drafting supply store he whipped up a small card for me. He's so cool!

Doodlely Way!

Nothing better than swimming with my 'Doodlely peers'. We seem to act the same, jump the same, hop the same lick the same and love the same. It's part of the 'Doodlely' way!

This is Linus a Goldendoodle. It's just remarkable how I end up acting like him and vice versa....

The water is just perfect today so we just dove in....

Linus' friend a..Portuguese Water Dog was 'with' us all the way...

Of course, the ball keeps us focused....

The ball went straight over our heads to the right...see....

Even Ron managed to float around in the 'Doodlely' way. I tell you my powers are strong and no one can resist them.
Nothing better than warm salty ocean water on a bight and clear day in August.

Huh..My Ghost is following me!

Wha....Wha...Wha is that following me with the same colour hair and doodly movements. I must have been in the salty water too long and I'm seeing things. Or, is that Daddy Ron playing with the photo editing program again...doubles!

Just sitting and enjoying the view

One day during our sojourn to Charlottetown, P.E.I. we stopped and sat on a bench to take in the view....

...the shade and knowing a pizza was being whipped up in a nearby restaurant was enough just to take a breather from the heat....

I turned and there were two very large horses pulling some tourists along the brick roadway. I gave a noticeable 'woof woof' just so they knew I was there and not to come too close. I protect my guys at any cost!

As I turned around again, these very sweet people came over to me and were all over me. Such wonderful people they were. Their Labradoodle was injured and had to be taken to the vet college for an operation. I hope Zoe is doing well....

After pizza and 'love hugs' we headed off down the street.....
